My approach to UX is characterized by innovative initiatives and the ability to think creatively. Within the UX discipline, there are a multitude of best practices that I believe can be challenged in order to create unique products. While I seek to create unique experiences through the occasional break with convention, I never prioritize ease of use. 

As an admirer of Dieter Rams' philosophy that 'Design should not dominate things or people, it should help people.' I strive to create design that benefits the users.

I love the thrill of prototyping! There's this rush when you see ideas take shape, especially with Figma's third party applications. Lately I got very much into exploring animations, thanks to the mighty power of Lottiefiles. 

These rapid prototypes are used for extensive testing. It's like being a mad scientist, but with pixels instead of test tubes. And don't even get me started on design systems – keeping everything in line is oddly satisfying. 

I basically use Figma for EVERYTHING. Whether I'm planning furniture layouts or whipping up a logo for my buddy's Jazz trio, Figma's got my back. It's my creative Swiss Army knife.

As a manager, my approach is to empower my colleagues to find solutions themselves and understand their work in a larger context. I am proud of my ability to see the big picture and connect the daily work with objectives, roadmaps and KPIs. 

I am not afraid to take responsibility and I see mistakes as an opportunity for learning and growth.

I kicked off my career as a front-end dev in a pretty traditional setup. But then SCRUM arrived, and it was a game-changer. By that point I was already on the other side of the table, leading both the design and the team. This is where my varied background turned out to be gold in the agile world, since I can honestly relate to the day to day struggle of developers.

Now, it's been a while since my last commit and I hava never written a line in React or Angular. But I understand the process and I'll join the conversations any day, whilst fixing your bugs with a good old CSS hack. 

Designing isn't just a job for me; it's a passion that runs deep in my veins. Like so many others, I just can't switch it off.

When I'm not on the clock, you'll catch me knee-deep in design projects for things I love. Labels for our homebrewed beer crew, artwork for friends from the music industry or writing Sci-Fi Novels never to be released.

Being creative is my go-to way to unwind and stay sharp for the real deal. And vice versa: When you play around to your heart's content in your spare time, you bring a whole new level of expertise to the table when it really counts.
